On November 28, 2025, President Donald Trump announced a "full and complete pardon" for former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who was serving a 45-year sentence in the U.S. for conspiring to traffic over 400 tons of cocaine. Trump formally granted the pardon on December 1, 2025, and Hernández was released from federal prison the same day.
